Days 1-2 Fly to Chengdu
Fly overnight to Chengdu.
Day 3 Chengdu, Pandas & Buddha
Visit the famous Panda Conservation Centre to see these charismatic animals before wandering Jinli Old Street and visiting Wuhou Temple.
Day 4 Fly to Lhasa
Fly to Lhasa, the afternoon is at leisure to help you to acclimatise to the higher altitude.
Day 5 Jokhang Temple & Bazaar
Sightseeing today includes a stroll around the Barkhor circuit where traditional dress, market stalls selling religious trinkets and the sound of chanted prayers create the atmosphere of a medieval carnival. We also visit the 7th Century Jokhang Temple, which is the most sacred in Tibet and the Sera Monastery, with about 600 monks in residence.
Day 6 Potala Palace
Explore the crown jewel of Tibet, the Potala Palace. The palace is an architectural wonder that towers over the city with thousands of rooms filled with treasures such as intricate shrines and beautiful frescoes.
Days 7-8 Gyantse & Shigatse
Travel to Gyantse and visit Gyantse Kumbum. Overnight in Shigatse. The next day visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional residence of the Panchen Lama, second only to the Dalai Lama, before continuing to New Tingri.
Day 9 Mount Everest Base Camp
Drive to Mount Everest, and visit Base Camp to admire the stunning north face of the worlds tallest mountain peak at 8,848m. Visit Rongbuk Monastery and stay overnight in New Tingri.
Days 10-11 Fly to Nepal
Drive from New Tingri to Lhasa via Shigatse. The next day fly to Kathmandu. Transfer to Bhaktapur via Dhulikhel, home to traditional Nuwari houses.
Days 12-13 Bhaktapur & Pokhara
Explore the Golden Gate, the Palace of 55 Windows and the UNESCO listed Changu Narayan Temple. Continue to Pokhara and cruise on Phewa Lake.
Days 14-15 Chitwan National Park
Travel to Chitwan National Park, one of the last refuges of the One-Horned Rhino, for elephant bathing, safaris, jungle walks and bird watching.
Day 16 Daman
Travel to the hillside town of Daman and enjoy time at leisure to explore
Day 17 Discover Kathmandu
Travel to exciting Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, busy with historic temples, palaces and shrines.
Day 18 Explore Patan
Visit nearby Patan, second largest city in Nepal with a rich artistic heritage, to explore the UNESCO listed Royal Palace and Patans Durbar Square. Return to Kathmandu and tour the Bodhnath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple.
Day 19 Thamel Market
Sightseeing around Kathmandu including Swayambhunath Temple, Kumari Temple, bustling Thamel Market ad Kathmandus Durbar Square
